2006 Draft Class Looks Loaded

By Brian Diez
LIONBACKER

The 2006 draft class will be remembered as one of the best ever. The depth in the later rounds isn't great, but the first round is as solid as it can be. Numerous underclassmen who nearly declared for last year's draft (D'Brickashaw Ferguson, Ahmad Brooks, Matt Leinart) line the top of the draft, whereas players who would have been first rounders close out the top round (Jason Allen, Orien Harris). There are also your "relatively unknown" players in this draft. Darrell Hunter of Miami (OH) is vastly underrated and could be a first rounder in 2006. DeAngelo Williams, albeit from Memphis, may be the most polished back in the draft class. And Omar Jacobs appears to be the next in a line of great MAC quarterbacks.

Too early for a 2006 NFL mock draft? We don't think so.
